Hands in Motion (HIM) is a faith-based not-for-profit focused on helping the elderly and disabled in Fauquier County. HIM delivers firewood to the elderly and disabled who need it as a primary source of heat, repairs homes, and also distributes food to those in need. In addition, Hands in Motion provides important services to the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry (HRFP).
Venison and Fresh Produce
Hands in Motion has been instrumental during the past five years in providing venison to the HRFP, delivering roughly 12 tons of venison each year! This year, Hands in Motion also started delivering produce to the Food Pantry that they pick up each Sunday either from the Fauquier Education Farm (FEF) or the Dale City Farmers Market.
Hands in Motion is looking for volunteers to assist in transporting the venison and produce to the Food Pantry. The venison pickups take roughly 2.5 hours round trip and occur on a sporadic basis through February. A minivan with seats removed, pickup or a trailer are all suitable vehicles. Hands in Motion is also looking for drivers to help with Sunday pickups of produce with a three hour time commit.
If you would like to assist Hands in Motion by picking up and transporting the venison or produce to the Food Pantry, please email HIM president Tom Neff at Tom@HIMhq.org. We appreciate your consideration and any time that you can spare for this important effort!
Thank You, Hands in Motion
The Haymarket Regional Food Pantry is most appreciative of the work that Hands in Motion does in support of our clients at the Food Pantry. Being able to provide venison (a great source of protein) and fresh fruits and vegetables is a wonderful benefit for our families. Thank you, Hands in Motion for all you do for the community!
