Welcome Chef JJ:
We are excited to welcome Chef JJ to the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry. Beginning the end of June 2018, Chef JJ will be at the pantry providing recipes and cooking techniques to our clients using the food they get from the food pantry. He calls this his “action station” where a fresh recipe will be made for clients and volunteers to sample throughout the session. He will be cooking throughout the event to show techniques and answer questions. Printed recipe cards will be available to those interested (as well as posted online here). About Chef JJ
JJ Miller (“Chef JJ”) is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America with a lifetime of cooking experience and nearly 15 years working as a culinary professional. He is a Boy Scouts Leader, earning accolades of Eagle Scout and Wood Badge, a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow, and recipient of several awards in recognition of his lifelong commitment to service. After working as Food Services Director at the Boy Scouts, Chef JJ joined Wegmans in 2008. He completed the Wegmans’ Culinary Manager Training program, and currently works as a sous chef at Wegmans Lake Manassas store in Gainesville, VA. He gives credit to his mom and grandmother for his passion for cooking. Chef JJ is originally from East-Central Pennsylvania, and now lives in Woodbridge, VA with his best friend, Nathan and dog, Oscar.
