Each year, the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry benefits from the support of dozens of organizations, including corporations, foundations, individuals, schools and other organizations. Our Partners help to make a visible difference in achieving our mission to end hunger in our community.
If you could look into the eyes of a mother or father who has come to us to receive food for their family and children, you would know we are doing something that is both worthwhile and valuable.
Organizations have supported us financially through grants, corporate donations, and event sponsorships. In addition to critical financial support, many of our Partners support us by donating food, conducting food drives, or by participating in one of our many volunteer opportunities. What separates a Partner is their commitment to support and work with the Pantry throughout the year, and year after year.
Thank you to our Corporate Partners
- Thanksgiving Baskets
Every November, the food pantry collects and distributes a “holiday meal in a basket” on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Baskets include a turkey along with traditional Thanksgiving fare. To collect, store, assemble and distribute the baskets, the food pantry relies on donations (either financial, food items, or volunteer time) to support purchasing of supplemental food, storage unit space, advertising space, baskets, and more.
- Christmas Baskets
Similar to the Thanksgiving baskets, the Christmas baskets are distributed the Saturday before Christmas. Donated food, services and volunteer time are needed. In past years, we have provided one age-appropriate wrapped new gift per child per family.
- Fundraising Event Sponsor
The food pantry hosts events throughout the year to raise funds and awareness to help us achieve our mission of Helping Other People Eat. These events are not possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Current Sponsor opportunities are available for:
- Soup-er Bingo on January 20, 2018. Click for more information.
