At the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry (HRFP), our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Whether you're stocking shelves, packing groceries, helping at events, or lending a hand behind the scenes, your dedication makes it possible for us to serve our neighbors facing food insecurity. We are 100% volunteer-run, meaning we really could not do it without you.
As a small way of saying thank you, we're excited to invite all of our volunteers to one of our 2026 volunteer appreciation events!
Young Volunteer Summer Celebration
With nearly 50% of our volunteers being young people, we're once again hosting a summertime celebration just for our youth volunteers and their families!
- When: August 20th from 4-6pm
- Where: Long Park in Haymarket, Pavilion #3
- Who: Volunteers 21 and under, and their parents!
Join us for an afternoon of:
- Ice cream from a local ice cream truck
- Games
- Prizes
- Plenty of fun with fellow volunteers!
This event is geared toward volunteers 21 and under and their families, but guests are welcome.
Adult Volunteer Appreciation Gathering
Our adult volunteers are invited to spend an afternoon relaxing with fellow volunteers at the beautiful Winery at Sunshine Ridge Farm.
- When: Saturday, September 26 from 3:00–5:00 p.m.
- Where: Winery at Sunshine Ridge Farm (Brewery)
- Who: Any HRFP volunteers and their guests
We'll provide drinks and snacks, enjoy time together, and wrap up the afternoon with some words from our Executive Director and a raffle!

Whether you've volunteered a few or dozens of times, we'd love the opportunity to celebrate you. Please register for the event that best fits you so we can plan food, activities, and seating. If you have family members who volunteer in different age groups, it's perfectly fine for your family to participate in the celebration that works best for you.
