We Believe No One Should Go Hungry
Especially when hunger hits so many families who are working hard, doing everything they can to make ends meet. But sometime the money runs out before the month ends. When it does, we’re here.
We’ve been doing this since 2005, and we’ve seen the need grow. Which means your generosity enables us to help more people never wonder where their next meal comes from.
Who We Are
The Haymarket Regional Food Pantry (HRFP) is a community based non-profit organization comprised entirely of volunteers dedicated to eliminating hunger by providing food to individuals and families in Haymarket, Gainesville and the surrounding areas. We rely entirely on food and financial support from our donors, and are thankful for the tremendous support that we receive from caring individuals, local churches, businesses and organizations, and our impressive team of volunteers.
What We Do
Unlike most food pantries that require clients to demonstrate financial need, the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry will feed anyone in Our Service Area who comes in need of food. If you or someone you know needs food assistance, the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry is here to help.
Our registered clients may visit the pantry as often as once every seven days. New clients often receive food the same day they submit the required information. Emergencies can be addressed at any time when originated by a pastor or social worker.
Though our inventory varies daily based on the donations we received, we regularly offer our clients choices from shelf stable/pantry items (such as boxed, canned or bagged items), fresh produce (fruits and vegetables), and refrigerator/freezer items (such as meat, dairy, and prepared meals). Clients typically receive 3-4 days of food, enough to subsidize their food needs for their household.
Our team of food distribution volunteers are on site to assist you while our clients make their selections to feed their households.
Who We Serve
Every year, we help feed thousands of people in our service area. It take hundreds of volunteers and countless strategic partnerships with donors, businesses, and local vendors. We run entirely on volunteers and work hard to make our impact greater every day. We serve anyone who has a need for food, as long as they live in our service area. In addition to our dedicated volunteers, our leaders and board members are constantly seeking to expand the impact of our food pantry and see how we can do more to help people in need.
