Haymarket Food Pantry Leadership Team

In 2005 The Haymarket Regional Food Pantry was started as an all volunteer food closet serving 39 families monthly.  Over time we have grown now serving 175 to 200 families weekly.  We are in our fourth location expanding with each move as the demand for our services grew.  This has been accomplished through the generous support of our community neighbors, partners, sponsors, and our most important resource, our volunteers.  Our board and leadership team are also made up of volunteers playing a major role in the food pantry keeping up with the growing demand for our services.  Our board meets regularly and are actively involved in the guidance of the food pantry.

 

The food pantry is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization, in accordance with section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.

Eileen Smith

Eileen F. Smith, M.Ed.

Executive Director & Governing Board Member

Ms. Smith has volunteered with the Food Pantry since 2007 assisting with food distribution, collection, marketing and assumed the Executive Director position in 2015.  In her role she collaborates with volunteers, donors, clients, community groups and food providers.  Ms. Smith is a long time Gainesville resident, moving from Annandale in 1995 and loved raising her three children in the community.  Ms. Smith is currently employed by Oracle where she is Senior Director of Global Competitive Strategy.
